The Cardinals (last place in the NL Central Division, one of baseball’s weakest Divisions) are playing badly. This season, a couple batters are worse than usual:
- Goldschmidt’s OPS+ (98 on 3 April and 48 on 15 April) would be a career low unless it improves.
- Nolan Arenado’s OPS+ (27 on 3 April and 93 on 15 April) would be his third worst season, but better than 2013 and 2020.
Also, Rookie Victor Scott II (center field) had a negative 18 OPS+ on 18 April.
Two weeks ago, the Diamondbacks won a 3-game series against the Cardinals.
