Holliday gets first hit, O’s battle to 6-4 win in series finale

The Orioles avoided a dreaded sweep, and Jackson Holliday finally recorded his first MLB hit during a monumental 6-4 win at Camden Yards on a lovely Sunday afternoon in Baltimore.

Corbin Burnes’ performance could best be described as “battling.” The O’s ace was just a little off. He made a pair of mistakes that didn’t even involve throwing home, and when he did pitch to his former teammates he wasn’t fooling as many as usual.

But this wasn’t some unmitigated disaster. Burnes is regarded as one of the best arms in baseball for a reason. Even when he’s not at his best, he usually keeps his side in the game anyway.
