The Green Bay Packers have a new wide receiver, and they didn’t get him in this year’s NFL Draft. It’s Alex McGough, who won the USFL Most Valuable Player Award for the 2023 season and helped the Birmingham Stallions win the USFL championship in 2022 and 2023 as a quarterback.
McGough spent the 2023 NFL season on the Packers’ practice squad as a quarterback. But while addressing reporters at Green Bay’s rookie minicamp on Friday, coach Matt LaFleur said the Packers plan to give McGough an opportunity at wide receiver.
“He’s a really athletic guy,” LaFleur said.
