Reports: Rudy Gobert suspended for Lakers-Wolves play-in game, did not travel with team

Update — Monday, April 10: According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and Shams Charania of The Athletic, Rudy Gobert has been suspended for Tuesday’s NBA play-in game between the Lakers and the Timberwolves for punching teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout on Sunday, and did not travel with the team to Los Angeles.

The suspension is for one game, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, and Woj reports that Gobert is expected to return after that game is served.

The Timberwolves had to suspend Gobert for throwing a punch, but accepted that it was a shot to chest with no intent to injure Kyle Anderson and understood that Anderson called Gobert a “bitch” repeatedly on a night Gobert was playing hurt, sources tell ESPN.
