Former Giants third baseman ‘Dirty Al’ Gallagher dies

Alan Gallagher, the first native San Franciscan to play for the Giants after the team moved West and the third baseman on their 1971 National League West championship team, has died. He was 73.

The Kansas City T-Bones of the independent American Association, for whom Gallagher managed, said he died in Fresno on Thursday.
