Cowgirls falter late to drop last game of regular season

The Wyoming Cowgirls took a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter against San Diego State but would allow 25 points to the Aztecs to drop the contest 58-55. Despite leading for most of the game, the Cowgirls fell flat in the last quarter defensively to finish out their regular season.

In the first half, Allyson Fertig would put up 12 points, nearly half of the Cowgirls total, to put them on top by 7, 25-18. The Cowgirls kept San Diego out of the paint, and the Aztecs relied on jumpers and three pointers to keep themselves in the game.
